Beltex sheep are
primarily terminal sires, bred to cross with British sheep and half bred
continental sheep. Because of their small bones they are being used
increasingly for young cross ewes to give easy birth. The new-born lambs
are great feeders, no sooner dropped than around for their first suck. The
main thing about them, is the fact that they are double-muscled.
