If you're just starting out - some points to bear in mind
You can train a
sheep to do all kinds of things, like dogs, when they are tame. They learn by
repetition, but they have better memories than dogs. However, you cannot
house-train a sheep. As sheep are born in an open field, it does not matter to
them where their droppings go, so they have no instinct at all to base any
training on. You have been warned!
Lambs like goats
milk, but the goats might not like the lambs to help themselves, so it might be
better to milk the goat and then bottle-feed the lambs. Lambs drink very quickly
- their stomachs change from slightly hollow to straight sided, if they get
round, they have had enough. A lamb can soon get indigestion or have wind, so
watch them closely if they seem to be having too much, and if they do get
indigestion, milk of magnesia should sort it out.
